Who I am

Beebso is made and run by me, Dale Anthony, an English teacher. When these terms say "I", "me" or "Beebso", they mean me. "You" means the parent or guardian using Beebso with a child. By using beebso.com you agree to these terms.

Who Beebso is for

Beebso is made for young children to use with a parent or guardian nearby. Children should not buy Beebso themselves. A parent or guardian should set it up, allow the microphone, and stay close while their child plays.

Free and paid

The alphabet, the Sounds category and the ABC Song are free, with no account and no card. A one-time payment of $49 (US dollars) unlocks all five levels. The price is the same everywhere in the world, though your bank or card may show it in your own currency.

• One payment. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.
• For good. Your purchase gives you access for as long as Beebso is offered, with no time limit.
• For the whole family. One purchase covers up to three children in your household, each with their own progress, on up to two devices.

Payments and Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy Beebso, you are buying from Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the payment, including billing, taxes and refunds.

Refunds

You can get a full refund if you ask within 15 days of buying. See the Refund Policy for how.

Your access code

After you buy, you get an access code that unlocks Beebso. Please keep it within your family. Codes are for home use and may not be shared, sold, or used across a classroom, school or language center. If you run a school or center and would like to use Beebso, please email me at hello@beebso.com.

Each access code works on up to two devices, such as a phone and a tablet. If you try it on a third device, Beebso will say the code is already in use. If you get a new phone or tablet and need to move Beebso to it, just email me and I'll help.

Listening, practice and tests

Your child can listen to every word and practice saying it into the microphone as often as they like. Listening and practice are always unlimited, and practice never leaves your device.

Tests are different. A test is when your child taps the Test button and Beebso scores how they said the word. Each test is scored by a paid speech-scoring service, so every word has a set number of tests in each level. The Test button opens once your child has practiced the word enough times:

• A word is finished when your child passes a test, or when its tests are used up. Either way, your child can keep practicing that word for free, as much as they like.
• Each child has their own tests. Every child in the family has their own progress, so each child gets the tests shown above for every word.
• The family total doesn't reset. Each access code also has a family total of 12,000 tests, shared by all the children who use it. That's enough for three children to finish all five levels. Tests used from the family total never come back, even if you reset progress, clear your browser or move to a new device.

Scores are a friendly guide to help your child practice. They are not a professional assessment of speech or language, and they can be affected by background noise, the microphone or a weak internet connection.

What belongs to whom

Everything in Beebso, including the recordings, the characters Beebso, Bimo and the Dinaurpions, the artwork, animations, songs and text, belongs to Beebso and is protected by copyright. Your purchase lets your family use Beebso for personal, non-commercial learning. Please don't copy, download, resell or publish Beebso's content, or try to get around the access code system.

Anything your family records, like your child's name, stays on your own device and belongs to you.

If the rules are broken

I may turn off an access code, without a refund, if it is shared or sold outside the family, used outside these terms in a serious way, or used to break these terms again and again. If that happens I'll explain why by email.

Changes and availability

I'm always improving Beebso, so words, levels and features will change and grow over time. I work to keep Beebso running smoothly, but I can't promise it will never be interrupted. If I change these terms, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Changes will never take away the levels you have already paid for.

Limits on responsibility

Beebso is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, I am not responsible for indirect losses, and my total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for Beebso. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
