Who I am

Beebso is made and run by me, Dale Anthony. I'm responsible for the information described here. You can reach me any time at hello@beebso.com.

Made for children, controlled by parents

Beebso is used by young children with a parent or guardian. I don't ask children for their email, address, phone number or photos, and there are no accounts, chat, ads or sharing with other users inside the app. The parent or guardian is the person who sets Beebso up, buys it and contacts me.

What stays on your device

These are saved only in your browser on your own phone, tablet or computer. I can't see them, and they are never sent to me:

• Your child's first name or nickname, if you type one in
• Your child's name recording, if you choose to make one
• Progress, eggs, Dinaurpions and settings
• Practice tries. When your child practices, the sound is heard on the device and never leaves it.

To remove all of this, clear the website data for beebso.com in your browser's settings.

Tests

When your child taps the Test button, Beebso scores how they said the word. For each test, a few seconds of audio of that one word is sent over a secure connection to a speech-scoring service, which compares it with the word and sends back a score. Along with the audio go the word being tested, your access code if you have one, and a random device number (explained below). Nothing else about your child is sent.

I don't save these clips. The audio is used only to produce the score, and the scoring service handles it under its own data protection terms. Listening and practice never send any audio. The number of tests per word is explained in the Terms of Service.

What I keep

• Access codes. For each code, I keep how many devices use it and how many tests have been used, so the family limits work. Each device is known only by a random number Beebso makes up, not by your name or anything that identifies you.
• Purchases. When you buy, Paddle tells me your name, email address, country and what you bought, so I can send your access code and help if you need it.
• Messages. If you email me or message me on WhatsApp, I keep the conversation so I can help you.
• Problem reports. If something breaks in the app, a short technical note is sent so I can fix it, such as the error, the word on screen and the type of browser. It never includes audio, names or anything about your child.

Your country

Beebso uses the country your internet connection comes from to choose holiday greetings, like Lunar New Year or Songkran. That country code is kept only until the browser tab is closed, and it isn't stored with anything else.

Who else is involved

• Paddle handles payments as the Merchant of Record. Paddle receives your payment details, and I never see your card number. Paddle's privacy notice explains how it uses your information.
• Cloudflare hosts beebso.com and, like any web host, processes basic connection information such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• The speech-scoring service scores the short clips described above.
• WhatsApp and email providers carry the messages you choose to send me.

I don't sell your information, and I don't use it for advertising.

How long I keep things

I keep purchase records and access code information for as long as you have Beebso, and for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Messages are kept while they're useful for helping you. You can ask me to delete your information at any time, though deleting your purchase record also ends your access code.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I keep about you by emailing hello@beebso.com. You can also turn the microphone off in your browser settings at any time. Beebso will still play every word, but it won't be able to hear or score your child.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how your child's voice is handled, I'll say so clearly on the For Parents page as well.
